Banana Bread Recipe

I noticed these bananas sitting in a corner of my kitchen – super ripe. I got a little excited, that meant its time to try my new Banana Bread Recipe! 


11/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg + 1 egg white

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 of them)

1 cup Hershey Chocolate Chip (substitute according to taste with berries, walnuts, etc.)

Pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9 X 5 inch loaf pan
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and baking powder 
  3. In another bowl, blend sugar, egg, egg white, yogurt, oil and vanilla essence 
  4. Mash bananas, add all other ingredients  
  5. Pour batter in the prepared pan
  6. Bake in oven for 1 hour or until a tester inserted in the centre of the loaf comes out clean
